I will be restarting my bi-weeklyin person and tele-class on A Course In Miracles in April! I will be posting a class schedule and location information in the next 2 weeks.

A Course In Miracles is a self-study system of spiritual psychotherapy aimed at helping us remove the blocks to our own Love, God, and Higher Self. It teaches that all of our emotions either come from fear or love, and teaches us how to undo a thought system of fear and adopt one based on love. Its central aim for doing this is forgiveness.

We are taught in ACIM that true and radical spiritual forgiveness has the power to change our lives and help us make our dreams come true.

Men’s Transformation Group to begin in March!

I will be beginnning and facilitating a Men’s Transformation Group, starting in March 2010, for men that are interested in being part of a support group that will aid in their growth and transformation. The group will begin meeting 3 times per month and will cost only $60 per month, and your commitment is non-contractual. There will be 2 groups- 1 in person and 1 teleclass.

Spirit Lesson#2: Going after our Dreams: Taking inspiration and lessons from Steve Mazan

I was so inspired and touched recently by the story of comedian Steve Mazan. Steve is a comedian from San Francisco that was diagnosed in 2005 with an incurable form of intestinal cancer that had spread to his liver. He was a very successful comedian prior to his diagnosis, having performed on the Craig Ferguson Show, and also being a regular entertainer for our troops serving overseas. Steve had a lifelong dream, though, that he felt an absolute urgency to attain after his diagnosis: to perform on the David Letterman Show, which is said to be the symbol of the pinnacle of success in the comedy world. Mazan was determined not to die with his dream still inside of him.

Mazan started a website called dyingtodoletterman.com and support poured in from people around the country that were touched by his story. And he was finally granted his wish on September 5, 2009 and got to perform on the David Letterman Show, and his lifelong dream, and “dying wish” were attained. Steve’s performance got good reviews but the external review probably could not match the reviews his soul gave, excited that he had gone after his dream.

WHAT WE ALL CAN TAKE FROM STEVE MAZAN’S STORY

Steve’s story has a lot to teach all of us. We all have dormant dreams inside of us and, while I am so, so, touched by and happy that Mazan got to attain one of his deep, heartfelt drams, I feel that his story can urge us to ask ourselves some deep questions, whether we are terminally ill or not:

1) Why should any of us have to wait for an incurable diagnosis to feel a sense of urgency to achieve our dreams?

2) Why should any others of us put off our dreams today?

3) Why waste time in unhappy jobs, relationships, etc. when our true dreams and heartfelt desires await us?

What dreams have you put under your pillow for when you “have time” to get to them? Do you dream of starting that new business, writing that book, finding true love, running that marathon, etc, but feel that you have plenty of time to get to it?

Mazan’s story teaches us that we can’t really control time and we never know what curveballs life will throw our way. My question for you today is: WHY WAIT???

What dream is laying inside of you that you have not started moving towards??? Are you waiting for an emergency or permission to get started?

Steve Mazan’s heart can rest content now that he has acheived a deep desire coming from this space- you and I deserve the same!
